The sun is shining in the Lake District!

A Moorhen splashing in the water

It's not just in Wimbledon where the sun is being enjoyed!

Like the rest of the UK , Lightwater Tarns Country Park is also enjoying the hot weather - with temperatures up into the 30's , Jen took the sunny weather as an opportunity to photograph the Wildlife on the main pond. We had been informed of 10 Turfed Ducklings on the pond but we are still to have any photographic evidence of this! We do however have plenty of Mallards with their young, Moorhens, Oyster Catchers and our well documented Canadian Geese and 3 Goslings (More pictures can be seen in the Gallery)

Summers nearly here

We had some lovely weather a few weeks ago where some much needed painting, spraying and tidying was done around the park. Since then we have desperately been waiting for some sunshine so we could silage. (remember we are also a fully functioning farm!) The mowers started yesterday and we have just got all the grass into the pit ready to get the sheeting on. All ready for the cows winter feed. The forecast is predicting sunshine for the next week so hopefully summer is finally upon us.....

We are now operating with a 12 month Holiday Season, so you can enjoy our Park at any time of the year.

Our resident Roe Deer are out grazing next to the Holiday Homes (click on photo to view).
The Pheasants, Swans, Canadian Geese, Oyster Catchers, Hares, etc can all be seen in and around the Park.
